The Geeks

While at the NZ FOO Camp I met some very interesting NZ geeks. Amongst those, Zita Joyce introduced me to Phil (http://words.rancidbacon.com/) from The Valley in Christchurch (http://groups.google.com/group/tvic/).

Phil, being from Christchurch, helped us get together a tribe of local geeks for a early week workshop. we had asked the Physics Room if we could hold an 'after hours' geek fest and the lovely Kate agree. We both thought it would be a 6pm-10pm event. So, the geeks showed and firstly, there was a lot of them! I think about 15 turned up. I was a bit nervous as these were the hardcore guys and girls and us part-timers could be badly shown up with our naieve circuit twiddling. Fortunately the people attending where very kind and open and understood immediately what it was we are trying to do. 

We got some beer and chips and everyone just starting making things and generally having a good time. The last of the crew left at 5.30am.
